R. Kelly - Love Letter

In a musical landscape dotted with one hit wonders, R. Kelly is embarking on the next chapter in an almost 20 year - and counting - success story.

As a three time Grammy Award winner, the Chicago native reigns as the King of R&B with six #1 albums, eleven #1 singles and twelve consecutive platinum albums.

The lead single from Kelly's 2009 Untitled album, 'Number One Hit' featuring Keri Hilson, marked his 35th Top 10 single on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.

As a result of his successes, R. Kelly has surpassed Nat 'King' Cole's record of placing the most Top 10 hits on that chart.

He is now sixth among male artists as the eighth Top 10 artist overall since Billboard's R&B chart was established in 1942. Beyond the prestigious accolades, R. Kelly continues to illustrate the breadth of his musical aptitude.

He recently penned the Official FIFA World Cup anthem, 'Sign of a Victory', and inspired the world with his stunning performance at the opening ceremony in South Africa.

R. Kelly's new album 'Love Letter' stylistically pays tribute to legends such as Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye.

The three time Grammy winner's lead single, 'When A Woman Loves' draws on both his R&B roots and his undeniable pop prowess to make a modern day soul classic.

R. Kelly has a string of high-profile performances lined up to promote 'Love Letter' including opening the recent 2010 Soul Train Awards with a medley of hits.

Critics are already giving 'Love Letter' a warm and often ecstatic response. In talking about the album's first single, Billboard Magazine wrote: 'the 'King of R&B' continues to prove himself unparalleled on 'When A Woman Loves'.'
