R. Kelly - TP.3 Reloaded

This is the ninth studio album from multi-platinum singer-songwriter, producer and arranger R. Kelly. It features guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, the Game, Elephant Man, Nivea, Baby and Twista.

The buzz around the album has been so strong that it was already reaching past the one million units sold mark in America a full three weeks before its release date.

What's more, mid-June saw the first of two singles, "Trapped In The Closet" become the #1 urban record in America (R&R).

And the second track to go to radio, "Playa's Only (featuring The Game)", is also proving a strong Crossover hit helping more than 80 million Americans hear the latest from the superstar!

In typical daring R. Kelly style, he has experimented with the art of storytelling and lyrics to create something unique on TP.3 RELOADED.

The album is built around a five-part musical R&B soap opera titled Trapped…In The Closet. The concept behind Trapped…In The Closet comes from back in the day, when the radio was the only entertainment available.

Families would sit round the radio to listen to shows and plays for evening entertainment, gripped by the cliff hanger of each episode, excited about hearing the next installment. Trapped In The Closet is described as an epic urban soap opera and is divided into five chapters.

Adding to the excitement of the Trapped … In The Closet concept is a mini feature film featuring several high profile special guests.

Included here as a bonus DVD, this exclusive mini-movie is full of suspense, mystery, drama and packed with unexpected twists and turns.

Parts 4 & 5 of Trapped…in the Closet will only be available on the CD and DVD and will NOT be serviced to radio or TV both in South Africa and globally.

TP.3 RELOADED follows on from Kelly's last album, HAPPY PEOPLE/U SAVED ME which was the biggest and fastest selling record for BMG Records when it was released in August 2004 with sales over 200 000 units (x4 Platinum)

R. Kelly told America magazine, "I'm not just a guy who does R&B, not just a guy who does pop. You can look at me like a movie director. I might make an action movie one day, I might make an inspirational movie about a person going to church to get their life together the next. I just come up with concepts."

R.Kelly has released eight albums since 1992, selling well over five million records in the UK alone and topping the charts twice. He's had 26 Top 40 hits, won the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2001 Mobo Awards, and his anthemic smash "Ignition Remix" entered the charts at No.1. The track stayed at the top spot for four consecutive weeks and became the 2nd biggest selling single of 2003 - selling half a million records alone.
