Temitayo George readies second album
Temitayo George, a former 'West African Idols' runner up, is
readying the
release of her new album.
The singer took the industry by storm when she performed for the
first time in
the 2006 edition of 'West African Idols'.
George told Vanguard that, as early as nine years old, she had
nursed the dream
of being a performer.
"At birthday parties I was fond of taking the centre stage,
dancing and
singing with friends. I believed that one day I was going to
perform on a big
stage like my idols Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Janet
Jackson with lots
of adoring fans."
Now she plans to launch a follow-up to her 12-track debut album
produced by
Edmond Benson, Mosadoluwa Adegboye, Wale Oni, and Cobhams Asoquo.
Temitayo, who described her brand of music as Inspirational
R&B said that
her debut album was an attempt towards giving hope to the
hopeless, and impact
positively on the society, particularly ladies who are having
undue challenges
in their relationship.
"I sowed it as a seed to the Little Saints Orphanage because most
of the
songs were inspired by my love for them. So I saw it as another
good way of
raising funds for their education, maintenance and general well
being,"
she said.
