Jub Jub charged with murder
Jub Jub appeared in the Protea Magistrate's Court today.
The rapper, whose real name is Molemo Maarohanye, and his friend Themba Tshabalala are accused of killing four schoolboys in a drag racing accident in Soweto.
Maarohanye appeared looking frail wearing a cerise pink top with green stripes, and jeans. He also wore a neck brace.
Meanwhile Tshabalala, who is the driver of the other MINI Cooper involved in the accident wore blue jeans, a black leather jacket and black sneakers.
Maarohanye and Tshabalala have both been charged with four counts of murder, two counts of culpable homicide, one count of reckless and negligent driving, and one count for driving under the influence.
Maarohanye reportedly refused to agree that he understood the charges at the beginning of the session because he was without his lawyer who was outside.
He continued to question the prosecutor, Liezel van Jaarsveld, on the whereabouts of his lawyer.
According to the prosecutor there may be more charges against the accused.
They appeared before Magistrate Brian Nemavhadi, who postponed the matter to 17 March.
The accused were refused bail and will remain in custody until then afterwhich they can apply for bail.
