Isabella Cruise is still close to Nicole Kidman

Isabella Cruise insists she is still "very close" to her mother Nicole Kidman, despite the pair rarely being seen together.

The 19-year-old artist - the adopted daughter of the actress and her ex-husband Tom Cruise - has not appeared in public with her mother for several years but she has denied there is a rift in the family.

She told New Idea magazine: "I love mom. She's my mom. She's great. I see her sometimes and I speak to her.

"We're a very close family. I love all of our family."

Nicole - who also has adopted Connor, 17, with Tom and daughters Sunday Rose, three, and 16-month-old Faith Margaret with current spouse Keith Urban - has previously admitted

Isabella and her brother call her by her first name.

She has said: "My kids don't call me mommy, they don't even call me mom. They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it."

Her comments came at a time when Tom's current wife Katie Holmes admitted the two teenagers call her 'Mom'.

She said: "Tom's first two children are incredible, really smart and kind. They call me Mom."

Isabella opted to continue living with Tom in Beverly Hills when her parents divorced in 2001.
